Parameter Estimation for Single Diode Models of Photovoltaic Modules
نویسنده
چکیده
Many popular models for photovoltaic system performance employ a single diode model to compute the I-V curve for a module or string of modules at given irradiance and temperature conditions. A single diode model requires a number of parameters to be estimated from measured I-V curves. Many available parameter estimation methods use only short circuit, open circuit and maximum power points for a single I-V curve at standard test conditions together with temperature coefficients determined separately for individual cells. In contrast, module testing frequently records I-V curves over a wide range of irradiance and temperature conditions which, when available, should also be used to parameterize the performance model. We present a parameter estimation method that makes use of a full range of available I-V curves. We verify the accuracy of the method by recovering known parameter values from simulated I-V curves. We validate the method by estimating model parameters for a module using outdoor test data and predicting the outdoor performance of the module.

Estimating the Parameters in Photovoltaic Modules: A Constrained Optimization Approach
This paper presents a novel identification technique for estimation of unknown parameters in photovoltaic (PV) systems. A single diode model is considered for the PV system, which consists of five unknown parameters. Using information of standard test condition (STC), three unknown parameters are written as functions of the other two parameters in a reduced model. An objective function and ...

In this paper, using Thevenin’s theorem and also nonlinear Lambert W function, a novel two-diode model of photovoltaic cells is presented in mathematical explicit manner. In comparison with existing explicit models in the literature which are valid exclusively for n2=n1 and n2=2n1, this model includes a wide range of silicon-based cells with arbitrary diodes ideality factors. Acquiring regulati...

Most commonly (e.g., [4]), parameters are determined using only current and voltage at short circuit, open circuit and maximum power from a single IV curve at standard test cond...

Precise photovoltaic (PV) behavior models are normally described by nonlinear analytical equations. To solve such equations, it is necessary to use iterative procedures. Aiming to make the computation easier, this paper proposes an approximate single-diode PV model that enables high-speed predictions for the electrical characteristics of commercial PV modules. Based on the experimental data, st...
متن کاملPhotovoltaic Cell Parameter Estimation Using Hybrid Particle Swarm Optimization and Simulated Annealing
Accurate parameter estimation of solar cells is vital to assess and predict the performance of photovoltaic energy systems. For the estimation model to accurately track the experimentally measured current-voltage (I-V) data, the parameter estimation problem is converted into an optimization problem and a metaheuristic optimization algorithm is used to solve it. Metaheuristics present a fairly a...
